Fremtidens Havfrue (above) is a pillar sculpture made out of seaweed and nylon stockings.
This proposal shows a connection between the sea and humanity. Based on how we romanticise and value the sea whilst at the same time we pollute and destroy its ecosystem.
Ultimately, this will paradoxically also have huge consequences for the humanity. With the two very sensuous materials; eelgrass and nylon, formations reminiscent of abstract body parts or corals are formed. These structures are wrapped around the pole and show the relationship between humans and the sea that take over each other.
